Sullivan Decries Minority’s Block of Extension of Federal Unemployment Benefits

Senator urges colleagues to compromise on behalf of the American Worker

WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator Dan Sullivan (R-Alaska) spoke on the Senate floor this afternoon highlighting Senate Democratic Leader Chuck Schumer’s (D-N.Y.) obstruction of legislation put forth earlier today to extend the current federal unemployment benefits for one week, while the Senate and the House continue to debate the next package of COVID-19 pandemic relief. Currently, the $600 per week increase in unemployment benefits are scheduled to expire on July 31.
